2026 German Academic International Network (GAIN) Meeting

American Friends of AvH was pleased to join our AvH colleagues and partners at the 2026 German Academic International Network (GAIN) Meeting in San Francisco. The event brought together 272 postdoctoral researchers from 22 states and 3 Canadian provinces, representatives from 128 German Institutions, and state and federal research ministers.

The event began with a “Pre-GAIN26” session on “Recent changes in the US research landscape and global shifts in science: What are current challenges and how can the international scientific community respond?” organized by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

VP of Advancement Jessica Hamilton, together with our partners from the German Research Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service, led a workshop on funding opportunities in Germany. The event garnered significant interest.
