Fuβball Biergarten Party

On June 6, 2026, the US Men’s National Soccer Team will face Germany at Soldier Field in its official World Cup send-off match—a fitting occasion for the German American community to come together. Whether you’re a Humboldt or DAAD alumnus or simply a fan of the game, come enjoy the atmosphere and reconnect with fellow alumni and friends before kick-off.

You are cordially invited to a public kick-off Fuβball Biergarten party before the match, hosted by the American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, DAAD USA, and the German Consulate General Chicago.

The gathering will take place on the Soldier Field East Lawn (opposite the Gold Star Families Memorial on Special Olympics Drive) in Chicago from 10:30 a.m. (CDT) until kick-off at 1:30 p.m. (CDT). There will be food, drinks, music, and an opportunity to reconnect with and meet fellow alumni.

The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. We hope to see you there!
